Our Approach

At Nutri-Licious, you’re always at the centre – whether you’re giving your family the best start, striving for better health, or managing a complex condition, I meet you exactly where you are, working at a pace that feels right for you.

I understand the limitations of rushed, volume-driven care that often misses the unique aspects of each person’s story. That’s why I’ve chosen a different approach, one that values time, attention, and trust. Your journey isn’t a one-size-fits-all; real change happens when we begin by truly listening. Your story, challenges, and goals are the foundation of our work together, shaping each step toward your health and wellness.

Here, every consultation is tailored, thoughtful, and grounded in evidence-based nutrition care. If you’re looking for someone who will take the time to listen and walk alongside you, I’m here to support you. For me, you’re never just another appointment—you’re the heart of everything I do.

Our services

As a specialist prenatal and paediatric dietitian, my focus is on nurturing women and growing healthy children, one bite at a time. I support women, parents, and children to achieve better health or to navigate complex medical conditions with confidence. I also support institutions and organisations to elevate their services, as well as health professionals to grow and develop in their practice.

FAQ’s

Dietitians and nutritionists both support healthier eating, but their qualifications and roles differ. Dietitians are all nutritionists; however, a nutritionist cannot call themselves a dietitian without a dietetics qualification.

Dietitians have extensive training in medical nutrition therapy, thus helping manage conditions like diabetes, cancer, autoimmune disorders or food allergies. They often work in hospitals, clinics, or private practice.  They might also work in community programs, education, or the food industry. Dietitians must have completed a nutrition and dietetics focused bachelor’s or a master’s degree, undertaken supervised and formally assessed internships, and have met strict professional standards to use the title “registered dietitian.”

Nutritionists focus on general healthy eating and wellness. The title “nutritionist” isn’t always regulated, so qualifications can vary. For example, someone who has completed a short online course can call themselves a nutritionist, just like someone with a three-year university degree in nutrition.

If you need help with a medical condition, look for a dietitian. For general healthy eating advice, either a dietitian or nutritionist will be a great option. But ensure you’re working with a well-qualified professional by looking for those registered with reputable organizations.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from Flinders University in Australia and a Master of Science in Human Nutrition, from Massey University in New Zealand. I am an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) with Dietitians Australia and a New Zealand Registered Dietitian (NZRD), credentials that require continuous education and professional development to uphold the highest standards of care. I am also registered with the Allied Health Professionals Council of Mauritius.

As an APD for over 18 years, I have pursued extensive training across various areas, including specialisation in prenatal and paediatric nutrition. I am a certified prenatal dietitian through the Early Life Nutrition Alliance (ELNA), have trained in the SOS (Sequential-Oral-Sensory) approach for assessing and treating children with feeding difficulties, and have completed further training in food allergy prevention and management with the Australasian Society of Clinical Immunology and Allergy (ASCIA), among other professional development activities.

Originally from Mauritius, my educational journey began at Phillippe Rivalland RCA Primary School, followed by Queen Elizabeth College for my secondary education.

If your preferred time is already booked, or you can’t find a suitable slot, please ask my secretary to add you to the waitlist. You will be contacted if an earlier appointment becomes available.

To refer a patient, please send your referral to [email protected]. If you would like to discuss your referral, please include this and I will get back to you as soon as possible so we can connect over the phone.

For collaboration opportunities or inquiries about services for institutions, organisations or health professionals, please email [email protected]. I will follow up promptly to arrange a meeting where we can discuss your requirements and explore how I can best assist.

A virtual appointment is an online video call, usually through Zoom, where we can meet face-to-face without you needing to leave your home or office. It’s a convenient way to fit appointments into your day without worrying about travel, traffic, or juggling work and family schedules. Virtual consults offer the same expert nutrition advice you’d receive in person, with the added flexibility to connect from anywhere - whether you’re in Mauritius or overseas.

If there are any technical hiccups, like a poor internet connection, I’ll call you on WhatsApp, FaceTime, or the standard phone line. We can also reschedule if needed. For anything that requires an in-person visit, we can discuss appropriate follow-up options.

Appointments are charged at the same rate as in-person sessions because you receive the same level of personalized care and dedicated time allocated to address your needs. Connecting virtually can save you money on travel, as well as time spent commuting. This makes virtual appointments a practical and cost-effective option for accessing professional nutrition care from the comfort of your own space. You can conveniently settle the appointment fee via Juice or bank transfer.

I understand that emergencies or obligations for work or family can sometimes make it difficult to attend a scheduled appointment. However, when you do not notify me in advance to cancel or reschedule, it may prevent another patient from receiving much-needed care. Similarly, if another patient fails to cancel, it may limit your opportunity to book an appointment due to a seemingly “full” schedule.

Please call our clinic secretary to reschedule or cancel your appointment, and refer to our cancellation policy required notification timeframes.

  • 48 hours’ notice: If you do not provide at least 48 hours’ notice to cancel or change your appointment, a fee of Rs 500 will apply.

  • Within 24 hours’ notice: If you cancel or reschedule within 24 hours of the appointment, the full consultation fee will be charged, or the session will be forfeited if part of a package.

  • No-shows: Patients who book an appointment but fail to attend without notice will also be charged the full consultation fee.

I understand that many of my patients have complex needs. If you have a medical emergency or a valid reason for cancelling or missing your appointment, please let my secretary know. In exceptional circumstances, we may exercise discretion regarding the applicable fees.

  • I will assess your nutritional status and provide tailored advice based on your needs. If you are attending for your child, the assessment and recommendations will centre on them. Pre- and post-natal sessions consider the needs of both mum and baby.

I create a friendly, relaxed, and judgment-free space where we can explore your medical history, symptoms, lifestyle, successes, and challenges with health and nutrition, and your eating habits. From there, we will work together to develop practical strategies to help you achieve your goals. Ongoing reviews will help you stay on track and adjust as needed.

    First Session:

The first session involves a comprehensive assessment to identify key focus areas. This session typically lasts 60-75 minutes to ensure I have enough time to thoroughly understand your situation and start aligning your eating habits and supplementation, if any, with what your body needs to flourish. After the consultation, I will send you any additional resources or tools you may need.

    Follow-Up Consultations:

Follow-ups are essential for helping you progress by refining your plan accordingly. These sessions last 30-45 minutes and are usually fortnightly at first, spacing out as required.

    Preparation:

To make the most of your session, please bring the following:

    • Details of any medications or nutritional supplements you take, and recent blood test results. If you haven’t had a blood test recently, I recommend waiting until your appointment for guidance on which tests to complete.
    • A record of what you eat and drink for a few days prior to your session, if possible.

This information will help ensure accurate assessments and personalised advice.

  • I offer a wide range of services tailored to meet diverse needs, each priced based on the type, duration, and complexity of care provided.

    Individual Consultations:

For individuals, consultations typically range between Rs 2,000 and Rs 2,500. I also offer care packages, with various tiers to provide more comprehensive support and practical guidance beyond your consultation. Examples include:

    • Consultation Packages: Bundled sessions for ongoing care.
    • WhatsApp Support Packages: Quick answers to questions between sessions or motivation to help you stay on track.
    • Premium Add-Ons: Examples include personalised supermarket tours, in-home cooking lessons, pregnancy meal preparation, fridge stocking for postpartum ease, assessment of individual baby readiness for solids, in-home guidance for new mums on solids introduction, preparation and storage, home-based feeding therapy for difficult feeders.

If you are interested in any of these options, feel free to ask for details at the end of your consultation or contact my secretary later and we will send you the full list of offerings and pricing.

Services for Organisations and Health Professionals:

For organisations and health professionals, I provide tailored solutions to meet your specific needs. Get in touch via email or phone to arrange a complimentary, no-obligation initial meeting. During this meeting, we will explore your requirements and determine how I can assist. Based on this, I will craft a personalised proposal and quote for you.

  • I am an inclusive dietitian, so I welcome everyone, regardless of their age, gender expression, sexual orientation, ethnicity, race, religion, body shape, size or ability.
While I have extensive training in prenatal and paediatric nutrition, specialising in the care of mothers and children, my practice is not limited to these groups. I also work with women of all ages, particularly those with hormonal concerns, and provide support to partners and dads looking to improve their health and fertility or align their nutrition with their family’s goals.
With a broad scope of practice and extensive experience, I can assist anyone requiring medical nutrition therapy. However, I may not offer the same level of specialist support outside my key areas of expertise. If I believe I am not the best dietitian for your specific needs, I will inform you and provide a referral to someone who can better support you.
Please note that I only support weight loss when there is a clinical need because I believe health is not defined by weight. People of all body sizes can experience conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, or cancer, and both small and large bodies can face challenges like undernourishment, a poor relationship with food, or excessive alcohol consumption. Your health is mostly influenced by your food choices and lifestyle behaviours. My goal therefore is not to make you thinner. I am here to help you nourish your body, move it regularly in a way that feels good for you, have a healthy relationship with food and empower you to thrive. If your only objective is weight loss, we may not be the right fit for each other.
